Sediment in water heater

My daughter recently purchased a home. I flushed the hot water heater today. Afterward, heavy sediment clogged all the aerators and muddy water came out. The water has largely cleared up but not sediment free. Beyond continuing to flush, what else can be done?

Once you've started you sorta need to follow it through. If you want to cut it a bit short you can stop the water heater flushing and run a hot tap in the house with the aerator screen removed until the water runs clear. Avoid washing clothes or using the dishwasher until the water is clear. You don't want to clog the intake screens or valves inside the machine.
