OK to backwash softener into swamp?

I was wondering if it would be environmentally sound to backwash my water softener into a swamp? I need to run a drain line to the swamp anyway to stop my gutters from draining into the septic field. I was considering just sending the backwash water down this same drain line. Otherwise I will dig a dry well for the backwash. I’m trying to prevent unnecessary water in the septic.

Homer,

It MIGHT be ok but in these environmentally concious times your regulators might not think so.
If this discharge is considered "grey water" you may be able to but I would ask them first.
