Will Salty water damage Copper pipes
I have a Water softener and ever once in a While it leave extra Salt in the system which is pretty strong, it takes a few minutes to run it out of the Hot and Cold systems. My question is this bad for the copper pipes will the Copper pipes start to go bad.
I have been searching the internet to see how copper does with salt but no luck.....

Bobster,
Rather than treating the symptom how about curing the disease?
A properly operating water softener does not leave salt in the service water. If your softener does then it has a problem or problems or it is not set correctly.
Since you say it only happens "once in a while" my bet is that the softener has problems.
What brand is the softener?
How long has it been in service?
On a well or a water system?
Have you been doing any routine maintenance on the softener?
Get a complete water test.

Well, fresh water made the Grand Canyon so yes, given enough time and sufficent water flow salt water would damage copper.
I'm pretty sure you wouldn't like drinking and cooking with salt water for that long so recognizing that the softener has problems and calling the service people is the right step.
Please let us know what the service people find and the resolution to the problem so others can learn.

The service guy just left and it said the Brine Injectors needed to be cleaned. So we will see on the next Big Wash....
I also ask him about copper and he said that in 25 years he has never seen salt Damage copper Pipes. I have also read that copper is used for blidge pumps and they last for a good long time.....
