I've been looking and reading about the Kinetico and I'm impressed, but put off by the high price. It has a 10 year warrenty the charger system has a lifetime warrenty. the manufacture warrents the electronics for 5 years and the company, who has been in business for 10 years, gives the rest of the lifetime warrenty. the Charger system is the High Flo 1" series. The Kinetico is the 1835 deluxe system. The problem here is the salesmen are claiming that when Jesus walked on water, it must have been conditioned by their product... or some form of that statement. according to them, they both have the best product... hands down. I have an old kenmore that is about 6 years old and we have 24 grain water. While the softner is still working, it malfunctioned and overflowed my whole shop two weeks ago. I'm thinking of replacing it before it just dies and ugly death. Anyone heard of the Charger system? On a second issue, we are going to put in a whole house carbon filter to remove chlorine. the kinetico system has a straight pass through system while the charger tank has a backflush system which "fluffs" up the media to flush out impurities. which is better? I have a new well (Aug 06) with softener and acid neutralizer that were installed early Dec 06, and everything has been great until now...Our water has recently started to have an odor - I hear people describing it as rotten eggs. My question is: Is this likely to just be the well quality changing or can it be that the Softener or AN need cleaned or something. I have read that I just need to install a carbon filter - is this true - and if so can I install it on a verical pipe? Any advice on types or makes of carbon filters. Thanks for your advice,
