Rainsoft Water System
I just bought a home with a Rainsoft water treatment system:
"Green Box"
Information on the label:
Rainsoft Water Treatment System
Model: AM24CT
Max PSI: 120
Date Code: 9212-0548
Service flow rate: 6GMP
Service drop flow: 12.5
Grain Recovery: 3066
Per lbs of salt: 1
There is no owners manual or maintenance instructions how to use the system. (the system is by passed right now). I contacted a Rainsoft dealership and they want to send a rep to look at the system, with a service charge of course. I would like to see if I could take care of this on my own before I call them back. I have a few questions if someone could help me out:
1. Do I need to clean out the holding tank prior to adding salt and does the water that has been sitting in the holding tank needs to emptied, it looks like "old water" but doesn't smell?
2. I noticed that the tank which holds the salt looks like the salt melted at the bottom of the tank. Does this need to be removed prior to adding salt?
3. How much salt is added, all the way to the top of the holding tank?
4. If I empty the container, do I need to add water back into the tank?
5. I read that there is a media filter that may become exhausted or consumed, where is this filter located so I can inspect to see if it is unserviceable?
6. Does anyone have a copy of a owners and maintenance manual that I can get a copy for this model?
One more question:
Since Rainsoft has a "life time" warranty, is that to the original buyer of the home, or does it go to the original house it was installed in?
