GE Smartwater Softener Regen. Issue

Hi,
I have a 2001 GE Water Softener GXSF23Z01. I have changed already the motor (about 5 month ago) and the Ventury gasket twice in 6 years. I just recently change the gasket a week ago but the system is not creating soft water.

I checked already the brine tank float and hose and is working properly, brine is about 7 inches from the bottom. When regenerating I don' t see the level moving at all. Please someone help. Living with soft water is an addictive comfort in the house.

These rotary valve design softeners similar to Kenmore, Morton etc. needs replacement of the valve rotor and seals every 5-6 years. There is a Sticky above these posts that will help you see the parts and how it works. There have been many discussions on how to replace these parts on this forum. Please do a search. The interactive trouble shooting at the Morton salt site (listed in sticky) is very helpful.

help install Culligan model#442249

:coffee: i picked up a culligan water cond looks like a older unit and want to install on my place.Well water.i currently have a blue/green tank with timer and a brine tank.the lady i got it from said it worked just fime when she replaced it .its a grey tank with timer on top model #442249 it also came with a blue cylender tank no modle # and a brine tank with a in line fiter.. my questions are in which order to install them does the grey culligan install 1st (on well water side coming in to home)?(looks like its the one that uses the brine tank)and then the blue tank and in line filter system ( a approx:ft long filter in a plastic or glass bulb) or the blue tank /grey tank next ..:wall: :confused: tks to any or all that respond ..Jumpin_JoHoSfat!!Read More

Are re-usable filters worthwhile?

Hi all, I'm going to be replacing some plumbing equipt and had a question. How useful are the washable filters like this: [url]http://ohiopurewaterco.com/shop/customer/home.php?cat=569[/url] I currently have a 20" tall filter housing before my softener and UV light. It lasts about 6 months and the filters come out caked in deep red stuff. Testing shows my iron at 1.8 ppm. Can these re-usable pleated filters take out the iron and then be washed? How many times can you re-use them? Any info would be appreciated! Thanks! CJRead More
