water softener installation problem

I just found out our water softener was installed wrong. The in take and out take hoses were reversed. We were having the brine beads in our water supply. They were clogging up my washing machine and faucet fixtures. But my concern is the health factor. The unit uses potassium. How much of a health hazard is this? Have we been ingesting too much potassium and are the brine beads harmful if ingested?

Whether it matters or not, everyone is scratching at the glass and asking "Who installed it"?

There is no health hazzard even if you eat a handful of the resins. It can, however, affect icemakers, faucet screens, toilet tanks, etc.

You would know it if you eat any. Much like a cheap oyster that was opened two weeks to early in a sand storm. As for the potassium, I am not a health specialist but if you're not seeing double. Consult a physician for all health issues.

Call an ACE plumber and send the bill to, you know....
