Question Culligan Mark 89 slow flow problem - help

My Mark 89 started to experience very slow flow at the dedicated tap. Flow starts out slow (not nearly as fast as previously), then slows to a thin line.

I'm pretty handy, but don't have experience with these units. What should I check/test before calling in the professionals?

Thanks in advance,

Jeff

If you put the unit on bypass and the pressure increases, than the unit is at fault. If not, do you any inline filters after the unit? Maybe check the aerator on the sink.

Appreciate the quick response.

Put it on bypass, same problem.

Filters have all been replaced. Valves are all full open.

Air tank seems to be full enough that I can't pump any more air in with a bike pump. Don't know what the psi should measure.

Need to shut off, drain, and inspect the dedicated tap.

Anything else I should check?

Can you check the flow prior to the unit. I take it you are on a well.

You may have a cartridge filter loaded up. Or the resin or something else in the softener or by-pass valve could be blocked up but... not if the problem persists when you by pass it.

The air pressure in the well pressure tank must be set with noi water in the tank, to 1-2 psi less than the turn the pump on pressure switch setting. I.E. if your pressure settings are on at 30 and off at 40, you need 29-28 psi air pressure when there is no water in the tank. Too much air and you get much less water out of the tank but... you get full flow, just fewer gallons. So check that and then remove your filter cartridge(s) and see what happens.
