Salt efficiency is only measured in demand initiated regeneration (DIR) softeners. It is measured by how many grains can be removed by one pound of salt (gpps).
California requires no less than 4000 gpps. Anyhting over 5000 gpps is considered high efficiency. Kinetico has number of 5000+ units. Ecowater is another company that has very high efficiency units. There are other manufacturers that make high efficiency units.
Your 2030 is around 4300 gpps. You could have been offered a 2040 which would be around 5200 gpps.
Those 'no salt' units are not softeners and will not remove hardness minerals. I don't recommend them to handle typical water issues.
