Plumbinig (Soft Water) Loop Location

I heard that a plumbing (soft water) loop is a preplumbed water pipe loop running out from the wall and back to the wall as a D shape where the water softener or whole house filter will be possibly installed in the future (garage, utility room, basement, etc...). So, is it possible that the soft water loop is hidden inside the drywall when the house was built? Thanks.

I have seen plumbers put the loop inside the wall, but it is unusual. Can you locate the main where it enters the house? Hate for you to cut into a wall and it not be there. If you could talk to the builder, they might know if it were done.

I have no idea which builders built my house since I am the second owner. I first owner is long gone and I do not have any contact information of him. Probably I have to call my neightborhood association and ask them for the information. Thanks.
