Culligan Mark 214

I bought a 22 year old house with the Culligan Mark 214, previous owners did not have a manual, they just added salt for 7 years, we are A two person household with well water in Lake of the Ozark area of Missouri. This unit uses four 40 pound bags of salt per month, Is this normal for 2 people?
The holding tank seems to have alot of water in it, even more than when I bought the house.
The system does seem to work well, I have have some relatives that complain they can't get the soap of after bathing though.
I am very much into manuals and I feel completly lost with out one. I do know how to by-pass the unit for outside watering so salt is not going into the yard.
Also what should the ppm be set on?

Thanks for your help.

You are using too much salt for sure. Check out this web site for your manual.
