Misc Water Softener Questions
Hello. I have been researching Water Softeners and have a few questions.
In regards to the size here are some usage details and water ratings.
Well Water
Iron .10 mg/L
Manganese .03 mg/L
pH 7.52
Hardness 120 (7)
I live alone and am out of the house about 12 hours per day.
I have a HE Washer and do 2-3 loads per week. I have HE dishwasher and toilets.
I take one shower a day at home and the other at the gym.
Based on data I have found on line I thought I should go with 24,000 grain. My sister who owns a Clack WS-1 32,000 for a family of three who has A LOT more water usage; does not think I need a 32,000. The vendors I have called all say I need at least a 32,000 maybe a 40,000.
In regards to water drainage where are you directing this water? I do not have a sump pump hole in the basement. The washing machine drain in the basement was plugged when the machine was moved upstairs. I would have this installed by a plumber should I have him run a pipe to that old drain? This will be across the room.
Any advise you could give would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks so much for your time.
