Kinetico 100 model

We have had several posts here regarding our water softener, and thanks for the info so far. One of the posts asked us what our water hardness was and the pH and the iron content. Also they told us about our system, Kinetico and we have tried several times to give the answer but haven't gotten a response. Our systemis a kinetico 100 on the top of the valve head is a clear dial, which reads brine, rinse and backflush a couple of times. We see one number a number 1 no other numbers and the the number one is not repeated around the top like some pics I have seen. Do we have the correct valve disk or should we get the kinetico techs out and adjust. We cleaned all with super iron out and so far all is great. But how long will this last? Is this the proper amount of salt for our water supply hardness was 8 iron was 1.75 and pH was 7.2 any advice will be welcome.

It seems as though your softener is set up properly. A disk #1 means it will regenerate every 1600 gal (1715 for MACH version). Your salt setting should be at 7.5 lb giving a very high efficient system.

Your iron is not high so an OCCASIONAL iron cleansing may be needed.

Not sure how old your system is. Resins in that unit should last 20 plus years and the valve in the 30 year range. Have your serviced water tested occasionally and make note if water feels or otherwise seems not to be soft or iron is coming through.

Hope tis helped.
