age of Kinetico 51

can anyone tell me what years Kinetico made a model 51?

Kinetico stopped maing that model around 2004. Brown tanks would tell you it was made before 1990 or so.

Advice on the Kinetico 2030s Mack Series Water Softner

Hi All, I'm in the bay area and looking at the Kinetico 2030s Mach series twin tank water softener. AAA water system gave me a quote of $2695. Does that seems reasonable or should i be able to negotiate a lower price from them? Also my friend says I should have a pre filter installed to trap solids 5 microns or above and to remove chlorine before the water enters the kinetico softener. Is this recommended? Will the Kinetico dealer install the pre filter for me? thx, Jeremy

brine draw problems

I have a culligan mark 100 that has no brine draw, I have installed an eductor kit and checked the drain for blockage thinking that these are the only things responsible for creating the suction on the brine line. my question is if there was a problem with the seal pack or a blockage in the valve body itself would this cause my problem. the unit is about 8 years old and has not used salt for a couple years now....I would hate to replace this thing for a "simple" problem. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Jim
