Water Softeners and Air Filtration Systems
Metallic Smell/Taste of Water

I have an older water softner and water filter system, I believe is working properly. Every once in a long while the water smells and tastes like metal. It seems to last a day or so and then goes away. Any ideas what may be causing this? Thanks in advance!!

Looking for some isights on how this process works. I want to do this myself, but not sure how to get started. Understand the system operation, but it has not been rebed since installed. It is a salt base system that is on auto regeneration and salt is maintained year round. Also have reverse osmosis system in the kitchen tied to fridge and kitchen sink. Looking for some help. Thanks in advance for your help.:)
