Low water output from Kinetico K2 System

I have a Kinetico K2 Reverse osmosis system and all I can get is about one glass of water before it stops. The syste is about 7 years old. What do I need to do?

Does the water come out fast and stops or dribbles for a while?

Andy,

The water comes out fast, goes to a dribble and then stops.

The bladder in the tank may be shot. If you can weight the tank and it is around 30lbs, then it is shot.

Andy,
Is it possible that the tank has lost the air pressure only? I know some of the tanks can be refilled with air to about 6 lbs.

Yes.

A couple of things can cause this type of symptom. Either the bladder is water-logged due to a 'pinhole' leak and filling the bladder with water. This is hopeless and needs to be replaced.

Or the schrader valve is leaking. This can be replaced.

Most newer plastic tanks have a removable bladder but older steel tanks do not.

If you bleed thwe air out of the valve and water comes out, the bladder is shot.
