Have a KINETICO 60 that sat for about 10 years. It was used for about 2 years on well water before city water was hooked up and the unit was bypassed. Got it home and took the head apart and soaked parts in CLR. Inside was pretty clean. Dumped media into buckets, soaked in iron out, then cleaned tanks with Clorox and dumped media back in. I never took the metering and regen disks apart until after we tried the unit. The meter disk would turn CW but the regen disk wouldn't move. It was also almost impossible to rotate the regen disk with a screw driver during a manual regen. I have a ttached a crummy picture of the disk area. I believe that a pawl is missing? Should there be a pawl directly over the pawl shown on the lower right side of the photo? The lower pawl slips into the windows of the meter sprocket which locks the upper and lower sprocket together for a few clicks.

If I do need the pawl, can someone sell it to me?

Can someone tell me what makes the meter disk rotate? Is it rotated by the regen disk, or visa versa?

I just wanna know!

There are 4 pawls...regen start used to start a regen...regen drive pawl...used to carry unit though a back pawl...prevents meter disc from moving backwards.....and the missing pawl...meter drive pawl...turns meter disc. The meter disc and control disc (regen disc) work independ of each other. I have an exploded view and a manual of this Kinetico. Just post your email and I'll send it to you.
