Sick softner needs replaced

My 20year old sears softner wants to recharge every night, it's not worth the repair cost. I had my water tested at a trusted plumbing supply store and they suggest a csi unit with a built in iron filter and an air inductor. Another friend who's been in the water business for many years says it's not necessary. I'm considering the fleck 9000 twin tank unit at 24000 grains per tank. My friend ays this will solve my problems. My water tested 37.42gggas caco3, ph 7.18 units, iron 2.500 ppm as fe, manganese 0Ö21, tannin 0, tds657, turbidty 50ntu, color 130 units. Iknow my waters bad, but my old sears unit at 32000 grains seemed to do a decent job, it still works, but I have to control it manually! Big pain, I am hoping for some good advice, your input is most welcome. Thanks

Go with your friend.
The only change that I would do is the turbulator and maybe 1.5 cubic feet per tank. Use a cap. of 30k and 9lbs.
What is the hardness? 37grains?

24000 grain per tank, is most likely 1.0 cubic foot 12lbs...

One could go with 32000 grain capacity per tank(1.5 cubic feet) on a twin with 9lbs and have the system change tanks at 625gallons.

Just a few ideas.
