Does the Grade of Potassium Permanganate that goes into the backwash tank matter

Hopefully quick question.

Does the Grade if Potassium Permanagante I use for backwashing the Greensand Filter in my house matter?

The previous owners just left a empty Culligan Man branded 5 lb bottle of it.

After some research I found what appears to be the exact same thing for about $40 with free shipping but it specifically says course grade.

The empty bottle does not indicate the grade at all.

Plus the Culligan Man just called me and told me they want $55 + tax for their branded version.

I'm hoping as long as it's Potassium Permanaganate the grade won't matter because i'm really not keen on paying through the nose for name brand just for the sake of having name brand.

No...

You must liquify the Perm for the filter so no matter...
