Installing Water Softener Loop. Which is the IN?

I'm trying to install a new water softener into a house I recently moved into. I'm trying to trace my main water supply line in from the corner of my garage. (There's a main shutoff valve outside, along with hose bib and irrigation lines). After the line comes into the garage, I can't tell if it's running under the slab and directly to the water heater, or if one of the lines in the picture attached is the cold supply in this manifold, then going up to the water heater? Some direction arrows would be terrific! Just trying to figure out where to cut in to make the loop for the softener.

Thanks!

I would venture to say the line to the left is the main feed but that is totally an educated guess. The only thing you can do is cut the pipe, move it over some, and turn on the water to see which way it comes from.

Too many shadows in the picture to even guess, would not be going under the slab, may need to open a few more holes to trace it in from the main.
