Rainsoft filter

Hello all. Quick question. Where would I be able to buy a rainsoft water filter. They told me it would be $1800 for them to get one and change it.. gonna try to save some money I hope. Thank you in advance

$1800 for a filter change, that is nice of them!

Going to need more info, many on line filter companies you just need a filter or filter assembly or filter size!

Water softener substitute?

Hi, I'm a new home owner, just bought my first house a few weeks ago. We are on city water and do not have a water softener or any filtration currently. Our water is really hard and dries out our skin in the shower as well as it has a chlorine taste to it. I'd like to get a water softener AND a filtration system, but our utility room is very small and doesnt have room for a typical water softener. Will just a simple inline sediment filter help with my issues or are there any better recommendations for the whole house? Working on a budget here so not trying to spend a whole lot on this issue. Some time ago, I removed my softener and cleaned the tank out. When I put it back I didn't reconnect it, it just sat. Maybe a year. About 2 months ago I got around to re-installing it. I wasn't getting any softened water so I kept increasing the hardness setting, but still wasn't getting any soft water. Today I realized I never opened the bypass valve, DOH! So I opened it and started a recharge. The tank is filling with yellow water. Ever heard of this before? Dangerous?Read More
