Floaters in brine tank

Good Day,

I have a Puronics Terminator system that was in my house when i moved in about 5 years ago. In the brine tank, amongst the salt, are these light brown fibrous floating things. Hopefully the pic shows them.

Anyone know what these are? Are they a concern? Can they get into the dispensed tap water?

Thanks in advance!

Debris in the brine tank usually come from the salt itself, if you use rock salt etc, there can be a lot of crud in there.

Only issue is that the material may get sucked into the softener as part of the regen, that could clog up the venturi and internal parts, Brine tank needs to be clean!
