My K5 is 10 years old and has become useless after a pre and post filter change. It was working seemingly fine before the change. I have done the filter change for 10 years running and it has had a new membrane in 2020.
The symptoms are it can fill a glass every 30 minutes and gives no water. the fill is at full pressure.
Listening to the unit I realised it is constantly draining to waste. I have tried the jack screw prime method in the attached troubleshooting. but that seems to do nothing. I have tried removing the pre and post and replaced with caps. Nothing seems to help.
I am hoping to narrow down the problem and hopefully avoid buying a new membrane (if that's not the problem).

Reason: editor failure.
I am getting the following symptoms after a pre and post filter change. Everything was working prior to filter change. Now, I can get 1 glass of water (at normal flow rate) and the system stops completely. Then if I wait for a while (30 min?) I can get another cup etc. I was told to prime the jack screw following the troubleshooting guide attached (yellow box), but that didnt work. In fact this didnt seem to do anything and I wondered if these instructions were correct as the flow diagram is ambiguous is a number of spots!
I noticed that it is constantly sending water to the drain. So obviously that's a huge problem and probably why I can only get one glass of water at a time.
One theory is shell out 300 For an new membrane. But for financial reasons would prefer not to do this, especially if no clue if that's the problemo.
The RO membrane was changed in 2020. The pre and post are brand new.

What settings should i use on the sprockets of my water softener? We use an average of 7,000 gallons a month. The time of day is correct but not sure what to set the other sprocket at.
