Question newt o welding

What kind of experience do you need to get a job in welding? I've used mig welders quite a bit and have done sheet metal shaping. Does the canadian certificates certify you in one type of welding, or would i need to learn others. Thanks.

cu_chullainn,

In Canada welding is a trade that has a Journeyman program to become certified.
After that there are specialty attachments to your license, such as a pressure welding ticket.

You may have enough experience right now to get a job but better ones come with at least a trade school diploma.
If you were looking for this type of work a lot of bigger shops will hire inexperienced people for entry level jobs.
