Question Scrap yard in Chicago South side?

Hello everybody!
I am new to this forum and to welding too. I do some metal sculptures and currently buy my materials at Metal Supermarkets and Home Depot. They have some nice sheet metal but I wander if I could find less expensive source. Does anybody know any good scrap yard in the Chicago area, preferably South side?
Thank you for your help.

Thumbs up

Thanks Ed, I didn't think of welding shops. Good idea! I'm mostly interested in 18 - 14 Gauge mild steel (sheet), and 1/8 in. flats and angles.

Economics of scrap

My local scrap metal source dried up several years ago. I asked the owner why.

Due to the falling prices for scrap steel, it was costing more to have it hauled off than the value of the metal would bring. As a result, it was cheaper to discard it along with wood scraps and other items.
