LN 25 wire feed welder

Hello, I'm new to this forum but have a welder question:

Neighbor gave me a LN 25 (Lincoln) wire feed welder. Don't know where he got it but he doesn't weld. I have only welded with a AC stick welder.

How do I get this thing to work, I know you have to have a CC or CV power source. Can I use a Craftsman 295 AMP welder, can I use this welder as a power sorce or do I need a DC welder. Also do I need 3 phase power.

I need a mig welder for thin stuff (body work). Can I make do with the LN 25 or am I wasting my time.

Thanks
K

Welcome k!

If you were planning to go into welding in a big way this would be the way to go.
You don't say if there is a gas kit but if you wanted to do mig you would need one.
You also will need a constant voltage power supply.

If you want to get started in welding you would do well to sell this unit and use the cash towards a small name brand mig.
