Polarity shouldn't matter.

The only changes I can think of would be:
  • Turn off the gas
  • Change the wire feed rolls because flux wire is usually thicker

Question polarity shouldnt matter

ok i havent tried it yet i dont even know if my welder is for flux core (clark 100e mk2) but ran out of gas and i am tired of filling the tiny bottle that came with it and dont have the money for a big bottle.so i figuerd flux would be a quick fix for when i am out of gas and need to weld. i have seen a lot of post on here talking about the polarity when using flux but dont know a lot about it.

Yes flux uses different polarity.
cant say why. but, I don't think you will get the penetration, may be a tall build up weld.
its in the manuals to change polarity.

One of my migs have wires near the wire feed unit to change the Polarity for flux wire.
Other welders may have copper jumpers that you move.
the other mig I have I cant change the polarity gas only.
