Homemade Pipe bender

I was wondering if anyone has ever made a pipe bender out of a wood splitter. I was thinking about cutting of the maul part of the splitter to make it flat to press the dies against. The other end would be trickier so any suggestions or any input at all would be very helpfull.

Doubt it will work, you need a mandrel to bend pipe without kinking it. You could make a parts bender, but pipe is a whole different story.
