Plastic welder opinions

I would like some feedback on airless vs air plastic welders.
Thanks in advance,
Mike

My experience

I have used various extruders and hot air air or nitrogen welders. Still have my Wegener Autotherm torch for the odd repair, usually automotive. The extruders used coils of rod and a hot air blower built in and the Wegener can be adapted to the situation with various tips.

Your intended application is? I prefer hot air with a speed welding tip but can freehand if necessary..... that's a pita.

Here is some info from a guy who, I believe demo'd some equipment in my shop years ago. http://www.plasticsmag.com/welding.a...ug-01&aid=3325

I forgot to ask if you mean like a soldering iron kind of airless or a self-contained welder with a built in blower like some Leisters that I have used as opposed to bottled nitrogen or compressed air.
