Here's what I want to do... I want to take a relatively thick (maybe 2 millimeters) sqare sheet of metal and turn it into the inside of the 'batsymbol.' I'd post a picture here, but I'm pretty sure everyone knows what it looks like ;) This would be mounted on my motorcycle. I'm thinking the best way to start this project is to use my jigsaw with the metal cutting blade to cut the rough shape out, but how to refine it? My original thought was to use a bench grinder and shape it that way, but my wife (who, I'm ashamed to admit, after a degree in Theatre knows more about wood and metalworking than I ever will) says that I need an anglegrinder. What would you all reccomend?

I am repairing my car frame and want to ask is there is any reason not to use a piece of 1/8 X 1 X 1 angle iron welded to 18/16 gauge steel, the anlge iron is made from cold rolled steel. I want to use it because it is a perfect fit for the repair. I will be using a mig welder.
