some questions about welders cement

Is welders cement suppose to be heat resistant? The purpose being to cement to pieces together and then weld them together. If so then after the torch is taken off the piece with the pieces being welded together does the cement still hold or does the cement lose its holding quality?

If you can provide a link to what you are referring to we may have a better idea about what you are asking.
I suspect that you have seen some type of adhesive named "Welders Glue" to imply that their product is superior in some way.......kinda like Gorilla Glue.....didn't see any gorillas jump outta the tube last time I used it.

The only thing I know of to hold pieces of metal before welding is a tack which are small pinpoint welds, magnetic positioners or clamps.
