Cutting a pipe even length
What is the method used to cut a pipe so it is even length all around from the bottom. There must be some quick method out there.

Do you mean how to cut it so it's straight ?
The quick easy way to cut pipe is with a hacksaw. It rarely comes out perfectly straight though.
You can use a chopsaw or pipecutter depending on what type of pipe you are cutting.

It is called "pipe wrap" and is actually heavy weight gasket paper that is wrapped around pipe and the ends evened then mark pipe with marking chalk beside the wrap and cut on the chalk mark.
Used this for 50+ years. In a pinch I have used a strip of flashing tin.
Get a piece about 6 to 8" wide and a length to completely wrap around pipe and overlap some so you can get it squared up and make the chalk mark.
This will get you a square end if you can cut to the mark.

Your question is a bit unclear. A pipe cutter will cut a plumb or square cut (a circle) from the diameter. A miter box will hold it to be able to cut it with a hack saw. If the pipe is already in the ground sticking up and you need to cut it flush with the ground then you need a edge cutting such as this
