Duracraft 21348 bandsaw questions

I just purchased a duracraft 21348 bandsaw for dirt cheap. To my surprise got it home turned right on. Needs a blade which is no big deal 15.99 at TSC. My question refers to tires. There are none on this particular saw does it need or require them. New to the bandsaw world always before used my metal chop saw but got a good deal on this and have used similiar years ago. Any help would be appreciated

You only need wheels/tires if you plan on rolling it around. Otherwise the stand can sit on the floor just fine.

The tires he is referring to are the rubber coatings on the drive wheels where the blade runs.

I do not recall ever seeing a bandsaw that did not use tires, and doubt that you would want to run metal to metal, so I would want them. They're out there, so you'll probably have to look around online for something generic of the right size.

I found a link to an owners manual site:

I also saw a thread on welding web suggesting parts for TSC's current line of bandsaws will fit Duracraft, but I'd suggest a grain of salt : - ).

Good luck with it, hope it works out!

It's a very common saw sold under many brand names over the past 30+ years. If you can't find parts for your brand name the parts from others should fit.
