Need to construct or buy a 22'x22' metal lattice to hold plexiglass.
Roof is leaking above the ring at the boys and girls club.
Building owner doesn't want to spend the $ to fix it.
Need a cheap solution that will redirect water from the ceiling away from the ring and onto the floor.
Thought about extending the ring posts up a few feet to suspend some sort of lattice up there and then slapping plexi glass over the lattice (which is angled downward) to send the water away from the ring and onto the floor.
Any suggestions?
Plexi will need a decent structure to support it and be expensive at that scale, not to mention the cost of all that plexi. How about a tent top or canvas? You can contact your local tent or party rental companies to see if they have an old 30 x 30 tent canvas they want to sell. Usually they are taken out of commission because they get dirty and dingy looking but are still strong and watertight. Or, you can contact a tent company. Tell them what you are doing and they can make a canvas for you including attachment rings on the outside/top so you can hang it from the ceiling.
A couple companies that might be good to work with would be: Fred's Tents , Celina Tent . Keep in mind that they would be new, commercial quality canvasses so there probably would be a comma in the price.
If you want something more budget friendly consider a large, heavy duty tarp. If you can string a series of ropes to provide support you could pull a tarp over and pull taught enough or create valleys to control where the water drains off.
How about laying some boards between the trusses on the bottom cord and then laying some metal or fiberglass roofing panels perpendicular to the boards? The only two issues I see are you would likely need to rent a lift to get up there and you will not have anything directly below the trusses.
Bulk tarp material can also be purchased inexpensively but the problem here is that is appears that the light fixtures are fastened directly to the roof trusses. That means anything hanging below that needs to be clear or very translucent to pass light.
so far the used tent idea is the most workable since there are sprinklers above and the fire marshall makes us take down whatever, reinspect, then we have to re-erect.
Someone was mentioning some sort of spray that some roofing companies use in order to seal leaks (though we're not sure if the leak is elsewhere and running down over the ring). Not sure if the spray is a temporary solution and how much it costs, anyone heard of this?
The disc is too big to get to the center holes since the point of the drill to the back post exceeds the radius of the disc,
I also have many holes to drill so I have been hand drilling one by one gradually increasing the size of the bit, but as they get larger the drill bit keeps getting stuck even when I use lots of oil.
Is there any other way/technique to drill these holes?
