new concrete septic tank with riser
Hi,
We just had a 1000 gal. 2 compartment septic tank installed today.
the tank is concrete has 2 access covers on top made of concrete, it has a removable filter inside at the outlet end, and was told if any problems to look there first and clean it.
ok
the installer has bought a couple of risers and saftey lid.
now he said the concrete cover stays on and the riser goes over the top, well it is not big enough in diameter to be able to remove the concrete lid he said it is only there to mark the location to dig up latter.
I don't buy that answer.
I think you should remove the concrete lid place the riser and screw the lid on..
but the plastic riser does not fit tight on to the top of tank, or is there a sealant that should be applied??
thanks
and sorry for the book

wrong riser
Thanks for the reply Dunbar Plumber.
The installer brought the wrong riser,
the correct riser has a bolt on flange for the top of the concrete tank then the riser is bolted on it then the lid is secured by screws all this while the remaing concrete lid stays on.
thanks again

I would make him use the right one.
Customer satisfaction is what its all about these days.
You wouldn't let your mechanic put a Ford rotor on a Chevy. Kinda has the same meaning.
