Septic vs. Sewage

I purchased my house 2+ years ago. It's about 15 years old. The survey we inherited from the previous owner doesn't have any symbol indicating whether the house is on septic or sewage. How do I go about finding that out? Thanks!

NORMALLY, if the main drainline exits the front of the house towards the street, you are on city sewer. If it exits to the back yard, septic. One way to find out is call your local code office. They know what areas (if any) are on sewer or septic. Good luck.

Chances are if you aren't getting a sewage bill from the city (usually part of your water bill), you have septic..
