For 6 yrs I had no problems with my septic system, then the pump burned out. I had a plumbing contractor add 3 clean outs to my field, install a new pump and of course pump and clean the system. Since that time 2 Years ago I have had rocks hamming the new septic pump, first jam was 2 weeks after work was done. Called him back twice and charged me to pull pump and remove rocks. He had said the rocks where a result of rocks in my field washing down and the pump picking them up. He can add a valve to the stop the backwash but in the winter the pipe could freeze and break.In the mean time bears keep ripping the new clean out stacks out. I have resolved the bears ripping the clean-outs out by spreading lime around the pipes(have to remember to re-add when it rains or the rip them out again). Well after continually pulling the pump and unjamming (myself another 6 times) this pump has burned out and it is no longer under warranty. Some how I am not a happy camper. I payed the contractor 3,000 dollars and have had head-aches ever since( Roto-Rooter ). I can replace the pump myself, but I would venture to say some thing is not right if rocks keep jamming my pump. Want to fix it and forget it, I have better things to do with my time then constantly worrying about my septic system. :wall: :wall:

I understand that the air pressure on the tank should be set at 2 psi under the cut on setting. But the air pressure varies from cut on to cut off. So should the 2 psi under the cut on setting be made when the unit is in the cut on or the cut off position? Or does it matter all that much? Thanks for the help.
