low water pressure - well system

I have a problem with low water pressure throughout the house. We have a well with a submersed pump. The water tank's pressure valve reads 30 pounds. Lately, the pump makes a whistling sound when it is pumping. Is my pump dying or is there another problem?

You could install a new gauge then try to set the pressure up higher. With a submersible this is usually possible.

I had tried increasing the pressure with the old gauge in place. Although the gauge read 50 lbs, there was no noticable difference. I will install a new gauge and try again.

Thanks

The gauge should fluctuate between on/off pressures.

If increasing pressure makes no difference, your plumbing may be plugged up or too small etc.
