Sump water from ??? Problem?
I've got 2 sump pumps in my basement. The first is fed by 2 drainage pipes from the perimeter of the foundation. The second receives waste water from the washing machine and a wash basin. It also is fed by a drain in the basement floor. During extended rainy periods the first sump pump might drain 3-4 times a day. The second sump pump can drain as often as every 3-5 minutes! A steady flow of water enters the sump basin from the gravel filled area around the floor drain pipe.
In my thinking that there must be a lot of water underneath that sump basin. Should I be concerned about this? If so, do you have suggestions on diagnosing the source of the problem?
There are no major moisture or foundation problems with the basement. Thanks in advance for your insights.
