Torque arrestor for new pump

I just had a new pump installed. But this time it was on PVC. The last time it was on galvanized. The problem is that the Installation Manual for the pump (Grundfos 5 HP) says: "...we recommend the use of a torque arrestor when using plastic pipe." The installer didn't use one and he didn't ask me if I wanted one. Am I in for trouble?

Alot of installers have quit using the torque arrestors. They don't feel they're necessary, especially with the newer piping connections, etc.
