Pump buying help

Hi all, I have a pond and need a pump for it. The gph isn't yet know but I am looking for a pump that can handle large solids like it won't get clogged up by a leaf if it falls in and also is energy efficient. Any ideas on the kind of pump or what I should be looking at. Thank you.

You should filter out the solids before they get to the pump. If you don't want to do that, you might be looking for a "semi-trash" pump. They are more expensive and less efficient.

I found this website that has a lot of info on it.
