Well pump loses a lot of pressure
My brother in law and I replaced his entire well setup, new pump, pressure tank, copper lines, well seal, black plastic pipe for both the water and the suction, new foot valve with a flow check at the bottom. Everything everywhere is brand new. The well is 115' deep so we set the lines to about 110'. Everything went very well until we started the pump. It is set at (30/50) and we lowered the tank to 28 psi. Now, the pump starts and goes all the way to about 52 psi and cuts out. Immediately the guage drops to 32 psi. Over the course of 10 minutes it will then drop to 28 psi (probably a small leak) and then the pump comes on. When the pump comes on, the pressure skyrockets to about 48 psi and then 15 sec later when it reads 52 psi it cuts out and the whole thing starts over again. Essentially, when the pump is running it is readin 20 psi higher than when the pump is off. Ironically, the water pressure in the house has been fine. I'm usually the one people come to for help, but this one has me beat. Thanks for your time and help.
