Water Pressure Problem

I have a barn with an apartment on the second floor. I need to run water from my well to supply the apartment which has a small kitchen and a bathroom with shower. The barn is abount 150' from my home and my well is in between both. My question is, since my pump is in the well, can I run a line from the well to the barns holding tank instead of running a line from my home to the barn, which is twice the distance? Or would there be an issure regulating the pressure of the two tanks with two pressure switches? Also, I live in Michigan where freezing can be a problem. The barn is on a monolythic slab and was never prep'd for electrical or water. Any suggestions on how to get the water to the barn would be appreciated. I can't make up my mind if I should go through the floor or come up outside the barn wall. I don't want to be concerned with freezing pipes. Thanks in advance, Jim

Hi !!!! I have an open well behind my house that supplies water to us. The well, i guess is about 2' diameter and about 20' deep. It has concrete pipe from the bottom and sticks out the surface about 2', with a concrete cap on top. There is a black plastic pipe going down to the water, looks like about 3/4 ". The well has always served the house with plenty of water, but it has a lot of iron in the water.. What i'm wondering is could i drop a 2 or 4'' pvc well pipe down to the level of the black pipe, and then put a 1'' supply line inside the larger pipe, and if so what kind of strainer would i need....Foot valve ...etc. Then, assuming that i could do this, could i fill the well up about half way with clean mortar sand, and the rest with regular dirt... By doing this i could get rid of the dangerous and unsightly concrete pipe sticking out of the ground... Would this possibly make the water have less iron in it.... Appreciate all comments on this.......Thanks, Oren
