pressure bladder tank
What could be the result of operating a bladder tank with the air pressure 8-10psi above the cut-in point of the pressure switch?

could
this scenario cause the pump to be air bound when the pressure switch calls for water? It sounds as though the pump has air in it when the pump comes on after draw down,and as the pressure starts to come up it quiets down.

If it is a bladder tank that is working correctly, it will not introduce air into the system. It will simply not be able to apply any pressure on the system. This will make your pump wait until all water is expelled from the tank before it will turn on.
Pumps with no back pressure on them do make a different sound than one under load but it should not be the sound of cavitation air pockets. They are generally quieter and smoother than a loaded pump.
Instead of playing tit for tat, why don;t you just present your entire situation so it can be looked at as a whole rather than pieces and parts. Things are easier to diagnose if one has the entire story.
