water powered water pump.

I want to drain a 1000 gallon pond. The pond is far from all utilities, and cannot be accessed with a vehicle. I am not willing buy and or carry a gas generator /pump to the pond. The pond is at a low point on the property so I cannot siphon the water away.

There is a 15’ waterfall close to the pond. I am trying to figure out a simple way to harness the power of the falling water to pump out the pond.

Given your restrictions, a bucket.

Water powered pumps take a good amount of pressure to work. A 15' waterfall will get you at best 6psi. Well short of what's needed. What is the vertical distance from the top of the waterfall to the top of the pond? Is the waterfall emptying into the pond?

I’d think the best solution would be a 12v bilge pump and a car battery. They can pump a good 500-1000 GPH and I’ve seen them as cheap as 20 bucks at Walmart. They’re also small and lightweight.
