If I'm messin' around with my d-box...how worried should I be about catching some disease.?

I'm not sure what a D-Box is but any time you work around sewage Hepatitus is a concern among others.

I assume that you meant to write effluent (sewage) and not affluent (wealthy) and the D-box is the distribution box between your septic tank and the multiple lines of your drain field.

Be sure to wash with plenty of hot water and soap after you are done working.

effluent

yes, those are what I meant. I know there is concern for disease. I'm wondering about the likelyhood. Septic guys work everyday. How do they maintain peace of mind?

I fixed your typo, Unit, although I got a good giggle like the others first.

I would be wearing gloves and make sure everything gets washed down afterwards. And of course, don't scratch your nose while working.

I hope you don't have a habit of chewing your fingernails.

I know plumbers that seem to have no fear. I even asked a few if hep a and b shots were required or even suggested and they all said no.

Seems like a good place to catch something but I have never met a plumber that has.

I've known a few old timer plumbers. They all say the same thing, "Soap and water does wonders."

Many moons back I worked for a service company and one of our accounts was a string of nursing homes. We had to get the hep shots.
