Priming Grundfos PC22 pump
I have a Grundfos PC22 pump which is attached to a tank to pump water for our house. At present the water level in the tank is beow the pump. I have done what I thought was need to prime the pump by filling up the intake line and bleeding air from the pump through the plug on the top. The pum works well untill it is stopped for a while then it needs re-priming. Air apppears to be in the pump again.
Am I doing something wrong.

Is there any type of check valve on the suction line between the pump and tank?
It sounds like the water is running back to the tank below the checkvalve, allowing air to enter the suction line, which would break prime.

Foot valve
Thanks, Ron. There is a footvalve in the tank which apppears to be working OK though I would not be able to pick up a small leakage. Also not sure where air could be entering the system...
