Question Sump relocation

I'm considering a basement remodelling project and have a query over the siting of my sump. Ideally, I would like to move all of the 'wet' elements (laundry, etc.) to one side of the basement, but this would mean the sump remained at the opposite end of the floor. Is there anything to prevent me from relocating the sump and pump?

What dumps into that sump now? If it is only there for the washing machine and possibly a laundry sink, it can go wherever they go as long as you are able to correctly and sensibly re-plumb its discharge.
