Submersible sump pump switch

I have a submersible sump pump and frequently the float and arm rise but the pump does not come on. If I bump the pump slightly, the pump comes on, lowers the water level, cycles for several more times, but eventually "sticks" again.
I noticed that the pump is not completely level but sits in the well at a slight angle. The home is ~ 5 years old.

Level the pump as best as possible. If this does not rectify the problem, Check the float for any binding, foreign debris,or damage.

Likely the float itself is worn out and will need to be replaced.
