Well problem .. Please Help ...

Last Friday, our water went out, the pump to the well was buzzing, or humming. We tapped on the motor and got it started back up, it lasted about 5 minutes. So we decided that the pump was burned up. We bought a new pump, which was a Reliantone Deep Well Jet Pump, we got it hooked up and still no water. Well, we got the pipes up out of the well, and saw that the foot valve was bad, we replaced that, and the jet, got the pipes back down in the well, thinking that we would for sure have water after getting everything hooked back up, Nope, no water. We try to prime it, but it doesn't work. The pump is only holding maybe a cup and a half of water at a time. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what could be wrong or what i am doing wrong? We have been a week without water.
It is a deep well, about 80' deep, and we measured the water, we have about 30' of water in the well.
any help is appreciated, thanks in advance

In order for the pump to prime, you need to find a way to get all the suction piping full of water. There shouldn't be any checkvalves directly before the pump.
You said you installed the pump and it didn't work, so you pulled the pipes up and replaced the footvalve and jet. Did the jet come matched with the pump?

Well, today we got the pipes back out of the well, and saw that the jet was leaking and got that fixed. But now the problem is it's sucking mud..i don't understand where all the mud is coming from. It was in clumps in the jet. We cleaned it and got everything hooked back up, it actually started priming but we lost prime, and it now we are back to where we started, except the jet isn't leaking, it keeps getting clogged full of mud.. any ideas about the mud? Is the well bad all of a sudden maybe? We took about 5 feet of the pipe off to keep the jet off of the bottom of the well, but it still continues to pump mud .. any help appreciated..

Is it possible you moved the inlet lower than it had been? Is it possible it was pushed down into the sediment bed of the well?
